Rescue your Hifz
On a schedule that works for you
Muraji' is a personalized Hifz coach that uses research-backed memorization techniques — interleaving and spaced repetition — to improve your Hifz from any level.
It replaces the traditional daur with a dynamic schedule that is both more effective and takes less time in the long run.
How we use spaced repetition
In a traditional loop (daur), every portion is revised monthly, whether it was perfectly remembered or had ten mistakes. Muraji' replaces that with a separate revision schedule suitable for each portion. This is the core concept behind spaced repetition - the gold standard for memorization supported by decades of research and used by millions of medical students and language learners.
You review at short intervals first and then increase them as you improve. Just like a doctor would attend more to their sicker patients — giving some intensive care while sending others home with a follow-up appointment — you will revise your easy sections less frequently, creating space to revise tough sections more frequently until they also become easy.
Interleaved ruku's
Interleaving means reciting small portions from different parts of the Quran instead of a full Surah or Juz. By reciting this way, you face a steady mix of difficult and easy passages each day instead of an entire difficult juz' in one challenging day. The variety of passages also makes revision more enjoyable.
The best unit for interleaving is the ruku'. As you move between different parts of the Quran, reciting a ruku' allows you to stop at a natural end of a topic. Stopping at the end of a page often interrupts the message.
What is a ruku? (رُكُوع)
Ruku's were a scheme of portioning the Quran into sections appropriate to recite as a unit in Salah. In non-Arabic-speaking regions such as Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent, they were explicitly marked in the mushaf. The most widely accepted portioning has 556 ruku's, each ranging from half a page to two pages.
Their variable length is not an issue: the daily workload averages out between shorter and longer reviews.

Frequently asked questions
What if I forgot parts of the Quran?
If you can recite a page from the forgotten section with 5 minutes of preparation, this method should still work for you insha'Allah.
Can I use this app to memorize the Quran?
The app currently does not help with learning new sections, but you can use it to efficiently revise the sections you have already memorized by selecting a custom range. Trusting that you can maintain what you have will motivate you to memorize more of the Quran.
